So how can I help myself so as not to lose interest in my favorite profession? In the first part of this article, you learned about the causes and stages of professional burnout syndrome. Now it remains to figure out how this condition can be prevented.

Some people live their own lives and never feel this syndrome. We can say that such people are just lucky, but this group of people can be congratulated on the fact that they make the right choice every day. The syndrome of professional burnout is less susceptible to those who have high self-esteem and are confident in themselves, in their abilities and capabilities, who are engaged in their physical condition and maintain positive attitudes.

First of all, those who should take care of themselves should:

  • just got a job and is on probation;
  • is in conflict with himself (for example, torn between work and family, engaged in an unloved business);
  • subject to constant checks, control, attestations in the professional field;
  • is in constant fierce competition;
  • is over the age of 45;
  • achieved his goal and reached certain heights, but lost the meaning of further development, felt the meaninglessness of what was happening.

The best prevention of professional burnout will be:

  • love and self-respect;
  • choosing a profession to your liking. Work should be fun;
  • choosing a hobby that will allow you to escape from your usual activities, relax and enjoy the process. It is important to learn to focus on personal interests and needs;
  • discipline and the formation of an equivalent “work-rest” regime;
  • focus on your life and your feelings, and not on the problems and experiences of others;
  • focus on your successes, not failures;
  • the ability to refuse people, to say “no” without a twinge of conscience.

If a person has begun to understand that he has the first signs of professional burnout, then it is important not to waste time, because at the first stage a person can help himself on his own.

Self-help:

  • do sports or fitness, which improves not only the body, but also gives you the opportunity to admire and be proud of your successes;
  • walk in the fresh air, enjoy deep breathing (you can use special breathing practices), admire nature;
  • smile and take difficult situations with humor;
  • try to find positive sides in any problem;
  • abstract from negative situations and look at the situation from the outside, find the pros for yourself;
  • remember happy life moments;
  • engage in business and hobbies that bring pleasure;
  • praise yourself, compliment other people.

Naturally, all of the above points should become a way of life for a person, learning this is not so easy, discipline and constant training will be required. If today you managed to notice even minimal success, then be sure to praise yourself for it, and tomorrow you will evaluate new actions and actions as a plus. Keep a diary of your daily achievements and changes, reread it, be inspired by positive events.
